Ei Mon Thinn Kyu

Ei Mon is a research coordinator at Auckland University of Technology, where she plays a role in facilitating the implementation of CARP across the Pacific region. Ei Mon is a Master of Public Health graduate from AUT. Since graduating in 2021, Ei Mon has been remotely engaging with AUT as a Teaching and Research Assistant across various Public Health, Disaster Risk Management and Development courses.

Ei Mon holds a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery and started her professional journey as a volunteer doctor in her home country, Myanmar/Burma. Transitioning into the international development sector, she has gained extensive experience working with several prominent International Non-governmental Organizations in communicable disease control and sexual and reproductive health within the framework of humanitarian assistance activities. Recently, Ei Mon led a USAID-funded malaria control project in Southeast Asia, where she effectively managed sub-partners to deliver essential malaria services to displaced communities.

Within Aotearoa, New Zealand, Ei Mon has worked with the Asian Network to enhance the health and well-being of Asian Communities in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland. Her professional interests lie at the intersection of public health, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation, particularly within the context of developing countries.
