Droughts have had disastrous impacts on the Amhara region in Ethiopia, devastating crops, decreasing water and food availability, and resulting in tragic loss of life. Understanding droughts and climate change is critical to the government and has spurred collaboration between policymakers, governmental, and nongovernmental organizations to analyze the impacts of droughts and improve the resilience of affected communities. This research will focus on the drought-affected areas of the Amhara region, with particular emphasis on the Waghemera Zone, one of the areas most prone to drought.

cto add to the literature on disasters, disaster resilience, climate change-affected livelihoods, and food security using comprehensive and quantitative techniques.
