Dr. Marielle Enyo Abalo is a conservation scientist focusing on climate change adaptation through ocean studies, sentinel species, and international development research. She has experience in innovation design and institutional administration for international networks and collaborations.  

She administers the HATS and CARP research efforts, with a focus on the African Diaspora in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Pacific. On the HATS and CARP team, she designs strategy for team organization,  forming institutional partnerships, and international dialogue with global organizations. 

Dr. Abalo completed a B.S. Biology degree from Davidson College. She holds a PhD in Biology with a focus on human-environment interactions from Arizona State University.  She is passionate about STEM research and sharing STEM inovations with new populations of learners. She speaks five languages and enjoys travelling.
